God Forbid are preparing to release their sixth full-length album and Victory debut, Equilibrium, on March 26th. The forthcoming effort was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), Jason Suecof (Bury Your Dead, Chimaira) and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth).

For over fifteen years, the forerunners of the New Wave of American metal have achieved high praise from fans and critics alike over their career while maintaining an insatiable hunger to expand their songwriting horizons. “With the new album, we focused on writing tight, hook-y metal songs,” commented guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle on the creative process for Equilibrium, “There are some really fast, super heavy, groovy songs – some of the catchiest, most melodic songs we’ve ever written. We wanted a modern, but organic-sounding album that was tight but still captured the intensity of the band. The album sounds huge!”

Coyle went on to speak about the overall theme of the album, “The title of the album says it all – it’s about finding your way when you’re lost. The lyrics come from a very personal, very real place. The recurring lyrical theme is about the everyday struggles of life and what it takes to persevere and follow your dreams.”

God Forbid’s solidified line-up, newly managed under World Entertainment’s Alexander Ford and Gunter Ford, includes lead vocalist Byron Davis, guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle, bassist John “Beeker” Outcalt, Corey Pierce on drums and newest member Matt Wicklund on guitar. The band will support Equilibrium with heavy touring.

Bassist Shayley Bourget officially announced his departure from the band Of Mice & Men. To prove that there were no hard feelings between the members of the band, Austin, Val, and Shayley sat down and filmed a video announcing this situation together. They don’t go into specifics but apparently Bourget has an “issue” that is effecting everybody and he and the band believe its best for everybody that he parts ways with Of Mice & Men. Ill Niño has entered the studio to begin work on their sixth full-length release and follow-up to their Victory debut, Dead New World. The effort is slated for a summer 2012 release.

Frontman Cristian Machado commented, “It’s 2012 & we’re all still alive. It’s time to redefine Latin metal.”

“This time around, we want to explore Latin and Tribal rhythms we have never explored in the past 5 releases, giving us no musical boundaries at all.” said drummer/founder Dave Chavarri on the band’s creative process for this album.

Ill Niño is currently scheduled to begin recording sessions next month in Hoboken NJ, Austin TX, and Denver CO.

Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, Emery) and mixed by Jason Suecoff (All That Remains, Trivium), True Defiance finds DEMON HUNTER continuing in their hard rock evolution while embracing the components that have always formed the backbone of their music: true metal, dark rock and balladry.

“This record is without a doubt our most aggressive,” says vocalist and band co-founder Ryan Clark. “Every DEMON HUNTER record must be a step up from the last. I know that’s a goal for every band, but it seldom works that way – especially today, especially in metal. It seems like most bands’ prime years are long behind them. I refuse to let that be the case for us.”

On True Defiance, Grammy-nominated artist Ryan Clark, Tim “Yogi” Watts (drums), Jonathan Dunn (bass) and Patrick Judge (lead guitar) are joined by their longtime friend Jeremiah Scott (guitar), whose credits as a metal musician (The Showdown) and producer (Living Sacrifice) are well established. The partnership marks a vital new chapter in the celebrated history of DEMON HUNTER, who are currently marking their 10th year of writing, breaking and erasing the rules of hard rock. Not ones to rest on their laurels, however, the members have created an album that not only lives up to their own lofty standards, but sets a new high-water mark for what DH is capable of.

True Defiance marks DEMON HUNTER’s first outing since 2010′s The World Is A Thorn, which debuted in the Billboard Top 40 and was hailed as the heaviest, fastest, and most aggressive record of the band’s career. The album yielded hit videos in “Collapsing,” which has racked up 1 million views online, and “LifeWar,” which was viewed over 100,000 times in the past month. The World is a Thorn was preceded by Storm the Gates of Hell (2007), The Triptych (2005), Summer of Darkness (2004) Demon Hunter (2002), and the three-disc CD / DVD set 45 Days, which collectively sold half a million copies and garnered airplay on college and specialty radio, Fuse and MTV2′s Headbangers Ball and earned the band cover features in publications like Revolver and HM.

Taproot will release their sixth full length album, The Episodes, on April 10th, 2012. The forthcoming effort is produced by Tim Palatan who previously worked with the band on 2010’s highly successful Plead the Fifth.

The Episodes, nearly six years in the making, is a complexly developed concept album. Bassist Phil Lipscomb spoke on the band’s creative process for this record, “I think our fans have come to expect the unexpected from us. Having written the story for this album before the music, this record sounds more like a soundtrack than a typical album, with the songs flowing together and taking you on a journey.”

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the group, demonstrating their strong reputation atop the modern hard rock empire. Lipscomb talked about the longevity of the band, “I’ve spent almost half of my life in Taproot traveling the world and I would sum up the whole experience as: I love my job!”
