Album Review: Escape The Fate-This War Is Ours

Escape The Fate’s new album “This War Is Ours,” takes the toll going down a much heavier and hard path this time around. Being a follow-up to their previous works “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion.” “This War Is Ours,” goes a whole new route being a lot more edgy and heavier as the music rolls off from the very start to the tip of the very end. Each of the 12-tracks being a lot more in detail and explain the lyrics and lyrical theme overall in a fun and exciting matter. Having aboard Craig former singer of blessthefall take the front man post is a new twist and suits Escape The Fate well this time around. Their former singer was dealing with personal issues and the band decided it was time for him to split and then called in Craig who filled the void and the rest is history. When it comes right down to “This War Is Ours,” each track has its own way and story of unfolding itself, for instance some tracks that stand out the most would include: “On To The Next One,” “The Flood,” and “Harder Than You Know,” which all go down the same directional path bringing out the vocal chords and wide range of them extremely well. Craig’s vocal skills have improved and shows really well during these set of tracks alone. As far as the other instruments go, the guitars create their own riffs and melody breaking into a killer solos and then drift off as the drums take over and blast their way through leaving the guitars to come back in, backing them up as the vocals wrap it all up. Escape The Fate’s newest album is a double hitter and overpowers their previous attempt by a long shot and will be an album not worth missing out on.
