Album Review: Thrice-The Alchemy Index: Vol. III and IV

It is known that no other band on earth can mimic the music that Thrice has achieved. Their latest release, which is the second half of a 4 EP series, shows how they turned air and earth into music. The band really has taken a big step from where they started and even from where they were a few months ago. A band that used to have your moms yelling at you to turn off that garbage noise now may be tickling the fancy of your folk rock loving grandparents. We loved that Dustin Kensrue did as a solo project, but it seems that has gotten a little bit too much into Thrice’s project. Fire and water surprised everyone with the experimentalism and progression that they never thought was possible. The band has found itself under huge criticism from its former following for “selling out”, while these latest releases it’s not so much selling out for mainstream fame (It is far from it), it seems the members got old and wanted to play music boring old people could like too. I find myself bored and unfulfilled after this listen and I worry about what the future holds for this band.
